Massage

Rex Stromness

I have practiced body-work for the past 30 years. I received my certification from Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, in 1988. Since then I have studied Deep-Tissue massage and Myo-Fascial Release at Heartwood Institute. I have also studied Reiki, Tragerwork, Shiatsu and Swedish massage. I refer to my work as Deep-Tissue/Myo-Fascial Release.

I work out of my home office, a beautiful, peaceful garden studio. My rates are $60.00 per hour. Call me at 892-8583 or e-mail stromness@comcast.net.

Cheri Neal, LMT

Cheri Neal is a Licensed Massage Therapist, certified through the California Massage Therapy Council and certified in Thai Yoga Massage through the Integral Touch Institute. She has special training in Oncology Massage, Medicinal Herbalism and Aromatherapy. She currently teaches yoga at the Yoga Center of Chico and has a massage practice in Chico, CA. She specializes in Integrative Massage Therapy and Thai Yoga Massage. It is her passion to not only bring the awareness of our body’s own innate ability to heal, but also to empower and inspire people to take their healing on a physical, mental and emotional level into their own hands.

Integrative Massage Therapy is unique blending of therapeutic massage techniques to deliver purposeful, healing touch that is specific to the clients' personal needs. Combining styles and techniques from Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage, Myofacial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, and Thai Yoga Massage, the result is a deeply therapeutic and relaxing massage that will leave you feeling lighter, more vibrant and more connected to your body.

Thai Yoga Massage is practiced on a thick mat on the floor, the client fully clothed in loose comfortable attire. It is a sequence of movements combining compression, assisted stretching, acupressure, muscle tissue manipulation and energy balancing. The effects are felt body wide, increasing circulation and flexibility, promoting profound relaxation of both deep and superficial tissues. It has a calming and quieting effect on the nervous system and many report going into deep states of meditation during the massage. Overall, Thai Yoga Massage optimizes the body's own ability to heal and to bring one back into balance physically, mentally and emotionally. Thai Yoga Massage is ideal for athletes and yogis, or for anyone wishing to experience this ancient healing practice.
