The tools most of us have for “good” posture rarely make it past the few seconds we are actively thinking about them, then we slump back into our habits the moment our mind drifts off. But there is a whole hidden realm of our body that we have yet to tap into to help support us in good posture – our insides!
Posture is more than the just muscles of our back. Our internal organs play a huge role in keeping us upright. Think of a plant - they have no bones or muscles to keep them up? We have a similar system at play and this class teaches you how to use this in all moments of the day. Healthy posture eases pain, breathing and even supports digestion. This class will change how you live in your body.
Class open to all levels.

The most simple way to describe this class is: “You don’t want to leak pee, do you?!” Contrary to popular belief, it is not normal to ever have bladder urgency or leaking issues. Yes, even if you’ve had a baby or two. Yes, even if you haven’t had a baby. Yes, even if you are a man! Even if you’ve done 100s Kegels every day and you’ve given up hope for significant results.
The sling of muscles at the bottom of the pelvis - also known as the pelvic floor - are much more complex, fascinating, and integral to our whole body health then we are commonly taught. (Even to our mental health if you are someone who is constantly having to worry about being near a bathroom for any bladder/bowel related reasons). Having a deeper understanding of your pelvic floor allows for simple solutions that actually make a difference your daily life.

MEDITATION IN ACTION
This workshop will be based on the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali, 1.2 “Yogah cittavrtti noridhah - Yoga ceases the fluctuations of the mind.
BKS Iyengar often referred to the practice of asana as “meditaiton in action”. This is not an easy concept to grasp when struggling with hamstrings or shoulders in poses that challenge these areas. All categories of asana will be taught in such a way that you will get some sense of inner quietness in your practice.
